Tesla Optimus (also called Tesla Bot) is a general-purpose bipedal humanoid under development by Tesla. Public design targets commonly cited from Tesla presentations include about 173 cm height, about 57 kg mass, and roughly 20 kg carrying payload, with walking speeds on the order of 5 mph (about 8 km/h) in reported demos and briefings. Control and perception lean on Tesla’s camera-based neural network approach related to Full Self-Driving. Gen 2 improved mass, motion, and hand capability versus early prototypes; subsequent hand work points toward much higher finger DoF for fine manipulation.
